OUR PASTOR

     Pastor Melvin E. Jackson Sr. a native of St. Paul, Minnesota comes from a family of pastors, bishops, elders, and ministers.  Pastor Melvin knew that he always had a calling on his life, but after leaving, Minnesota and moving to sunny Califorina in 1982, his God-ordained purpose for his life became apparent.  The next day after arriving in California,  God ordered and directed Pastor Melvin's footsteps to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Dr. E.V. Hill Sr. It was  there that Pastor Melvin gave his life totally over to God and he grew in biblical wisdom and knowledge, under Dr. Hill's tutorage.  

     As Pastor Melvin grew spiritually, the Holy Spirit began to manifest himself more and more.  Although Pastor Melvin knew there was a calling over his life, he continued to serve faithfully at Mt. Zion MBC until Dr. Hill Sr. went home to glory in 2003.  After Dr. Hill's death, Pastor Frank E. Wilson reached out to Pastor Melvin to inform him  that he was about to begin a church.  He asked Pastor Melvin would he come and assist him in his ministry.   Again, as God continued to order his steps, Pastor Melvin grew as a faithful servant, teacher, deacon, man of God and leader under the tutorage of Pastor Frank Wilson.   Pastor Melvin served faithfully at New Dawn Christian Village until God called Pastor Frank to glory in 2012.  

     After the death of Pastor Frank, God made it clear that it was time for Pastor Melvin to walk in his calling.    In November, 2012 the Holy Spirit spoke to Pastor Melvin  in a dream, and then he spoke to him again in  January, 2013 while sitting in Cottonwood Church," The holy spirit clearly said to Pastor Melvin that my people are uncovered, and I need for you to cover them."    Without hesitation, Pastor Melvin received his calling and has been walking out the authority given to him by the Holy Spirit to cover simple ordinary people that have either walked away from a church family, that are in need of church family and/or have been wounded by the CHURCH.    

     Pastor Melvin is married to the love of his life for over 25 year, Sis. Judy Marie Jackson.   Sis. Judy said "that she doesn't like to be addressed as 1st lady, because the title of first lady is no where mention in the bible."   Nevertheless, she has requested that if you just have to give her a title, please refer to her as Pastor's Melvin's helpmate and/or servant.   They have 7 children, 4 children from their marriage, and Pastor Melvin has 3 adult children .

     Pastor Melvin lives by   "I can do All things through Christ that strengthen me Phil 4:23."  Every aspect of his life represents A man that has walked by faith, and not by sight.   Simple Worship Christian Fellowship is a body of simple believers  serving an extraordinary God.  Pastor Melvin says that "he is living proof that if God changed him, He can change you too!"
